Fundação Guamá – Website Redesign

Overview

Redesigned the institutional website of Fundação Guamá, improving content accessibility and boosting visitor engagement through a clear information architecture.

Client

Fundação Guamá

Year

2024

Context

Fundação Guamá is a public institution supporting science, technology, and innovation in Pará, Brazil. Their institutional website was outdated, with poor information structure and low engagement.

Problem

  • Users had trouble navigating and finding key information.
  • Visual identity was inconsistent and not mobile-friendly.
  • Lack of internal design standards limited future improvements.

My Role

As UX Lead, I structured and led SEFA’s first UX team, responsible for driving the design transformation across the organization. Together, we:

  • Created SEFA’s first Design System in Figma, aligned with accessibility and scalability principles.
  • Standardized the UI across 10+ digital platforms, including taxpayer services, internal dashboards, and the public portal.
  • Redesigned the institutional website based on user-centered information architecture.
  • Introduced product discovery practices — including stakeholder workshops, user interviews, journey mapping, and prototype validation.
  • Worked closely with front-end and product teams to ensure consistent implementation and adoption of the new design standards.

Solution

  • Built the site’s information architecture and created wireframes for all key pages.
  • Designed responsive high-fidelity prototypes in Figma.
  • Developed a visual Style Guide for internal use.
  • Conducted usability testing with diverse user groups.

Impact

  • Improved clarity and navigation across all sections.
  • Increased visitor engagement with accessible, mobile-first design.
  • Empowered internal team with scalable visual standards.
